Process Flow Diagrams
E2M’s experienced chemical and mechanical engineers provide design and equipment insight to our clients for the modification or design of new process systems. Utilizing the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) with built-in mass balance calculations, a conceptual or definition plan can support the justification of your capital project.
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
In conjunction with PFD development, E2M engineers will work with Polytron controls engineers to design P&IDs that have the level of control and automation desired by the client. For all project phases, P&IDs are developed in AutoCAD format.
Mass Balance
For conceptual and definition plans, we develop the PFDs in Microsoft Excel format, with mass balance equations built into the spreadsheet for easy scenario testing. For execution work, we develop the PFDs in AutoCAD format.

Isometric Piping Diagrams
E2M/Polytron offers the full range of installation packages (Issue for Review, Issue for Bid, Issue for Construction, Record Set/As Built) for the successful completion of a project. Using our standard methodology and templates, each discipline provides a stand-alone package. Each set of deliverables is fully checked by resources outside the project, to ensure high quality. These detailed packages ensure proper installation of your system – and help reduce construction cost and change orders.
Batch, Continuous & Advanced Process Control
The S88 standard includes consistent terminology for batch control and defines the model, procedures, and recipes. Polytron delivers process Control systems that equip our clients with quick recipe creation, and flexible batching procedures.
Polytron also provides automated control systems to manage a continuous process, including product changeover, rinse and CIP/SIP cycles. Our control systems can be configured with redundancy, emergency shutoff, manual intervention, operator traceability and other features.
